Boston Celtics point guard Kyrie Irving will undergo a “minimally invasive” procedure in his injured left knee on Saturday, with the expectation that it will help alleviate some of the nagging soreness he's experienced the past few weeks, according to Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports.

A timetable for his return to the floor will be give after the procedure takes place.

Alongside their star point guard, forward/center Daniel Theis was ruled out for the season, hybrid guard Marcus Smart could miss six to eight weeks with his injury, and second-year guard Jaylen Brown is just recovering from a concussion, expected to return over the weekend.
