Gordon Hayward of the Boston Celtics isn't expected back this season after suffering a leg and ankle injury on the opening night of the NBA season but when he does return next year, he might have a new shot in his collection.

While rehabbing from injury Hayward threw it up from well behind the three-point line on his back and with some help from the backboard put it in.
Against defenders, it might be a little more difficult shot, but if he ever finds himself on his back during a game he at least knows he can sink them.
Article Continues BelowThere was hope earlier in the season that Hayward would be able to return in time for the playoffs but he hasn't even been cleared to run on the court yet so he still at least a couple months out.
Earlier this week Brad Stevens offered an updated to Tom Westerholm of Mass Live:
“Progressing well, still on the Alter-G (resistance machine) though and not on the court as far as running goes. He has a long way to go still. Actually organized for him to go down to Miami for a couple of days this week, to the ATP tour. He watched some tennis, which is one of his favorite things to do, and continued his rehab down there.”
The Celtics are really at a point in their season that they could use Gordon Hayward. With Kyrie Irving still at least a few weeks out after undergoing surgery, they are just trying to limp to the finish line and hope that Irving is healthy enough to return to the playoffs.
