After the Boston Celtics defeated the Philadelphia 76ers on Christmas Day, Celtics star point guard Kyrie Irving was seen on video telling Sixers big man Joel Embiid to call him.

Let's not look too much into this. Yes, Kyrie Irving can become an unrestricted free agent after this seasons ends, but the All-Star guard has made it clear he plans on re-signing with Boston.

Joel Embiid, meanwhile, signed a five-year extension with the Sixers in 2017, so he's not going anywhere anytime soon. This is likely just two players who want to become better friends off the court. Irving is already good friends with Sixers small forward Jimmy Butler, so Uncle Drew probably just wants to do the same with Embiid.

Both Kyrie Irving and Joel Embiid put up monster numbers on Christmas. Irving finished with 40 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Celtics to the win, while Embiid put up 34 points and 16 rebounds in the defeat. Boston is now 20-13 on the season. Philadelphia dropped to 22-13. These two teams will meet again in February in Philadelphia.
