The Boston Celtics are one of 22 NBA franchises invited to Orlando, Florida, to resume the 2019-20 season, and they will hope to compete for the 2020 title even given the uncertain environment and circumstances surrounding the suspended and now-resumed season.

Starting on July 31, the Celtics will kick off an eight-game experience at Walt Disney World in a purported “bubble” site with 21 other teams to finish the rest of the 2019-20 season and prepare themselves for another title run.

Here are the best games to watch for when the Celtics restart their season.

5. Portland Trail Blazers, Aug. 2

The Portland Trail Blazers have already seen Damian Lillard publicly come out against participating in the NBA's proposed restart, but the star point guard walked that back and appears to be ready to compete, even if the Blazers don't exactly have a shot at making the postseason.

Meanwhile, injured center Jusuf Nurkic should be back in the lineup for Portland, possibly giving the Celtics fits down low.

Nurkic could be a good warm-up for the Celtics in managing some of the more elite interior players in the Eastern Conference when Boston eventually goes to the playoffs.

4. Memphis Grizzlies, Aug. 11

Boston's second-to-last regular season matchup are the Memphis Grizzlies, the upstart franchise led by soon-to-be Rookie of the Year point guard Ja Morant, last year's No. 2 overall pick in the draft.

The Grizzlies, currently possessing the last spot in the Western Conference playoff picture, have a balanced and young team; along with Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr. is a rising star and Dillon Brooks is a threat from long range.

Despite not having potential playoff-matchup implications, this matchup should be very entertaining at the very least to see All-Star point guard Kemba Walker match up with another fierce mentality type of lead guard in Morant.

3. Miami Heat, Aug. 4

The Miami Heat were surging during the 2019-20 season thanks to contributions for lesser known players like rookie guards Tyler Herro and Kendrick Nunn along with neophyte forward Duncan Robinson.

Led by All-Stars Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo, the Heat are the team right behind the Celtics in the Eastern Conference standings. If something happens to the South Beach franchise in the season reset, though, it's possible to see Miami and Boston facing off in the first round of the playoffs.

2. Toronto Raptors, Aug. 7

Last year's champs. The Toronto Raptors are not to be trifled with in spite of star forward Kawhi Leonard's departure in free agency last summer. The Raptors own a three-game lead over the Celtics in the Eastern Conference standings for second place—and this matchup could foreshadow a potential second-round series in the 2020 postseason.

The Celtics won two of three games against their Atlantic Division foe, the Raptors, and they are one of the scariest teams in the league due to their depth along with rising star power forward Pascal Siakam, who may not have a positive matchup, from Boston's perspective, on the Celtics' roster.

Boston was limited in viewing Siakam this past season, as he only laced up for one of their three games, scoring 33 points and coughing up five turnovers in a late-October six-point road loss in Beantown.

1. Milwaukee Bucks, July 31

The Celtics' most anticipated matchup in their two-week stretch of resumed games is actually their first contest, playing last year's league MVP forward Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Bucks, of course, possess not only the best record in the Eastern Conference but in the entire Association at the time of the NBA's forced-hiatus in March. In Boston's time during the 2019-20 campaign prior to the public health-crisis stoppage, the C's played Antetokounmpo and Milwaukee just two times, splitting the pair of tilts at home and on the road.

The Bucks, ultimately, are the East's bellwether franchise in the Celtics', and other Eastern Conference clubs', quest for a championship, which would be their first since 2007-08.

Milwaukee is likely the most cohesive and dangerous team in the league, but it's worth wondering if the chemistry withered in the four-month hiatus. Regardless, the Bucks are the team to beat in the playoffs, and that starts with the Celtics measuring them up at the tip-off of their resumed season.
