Caris LeVert made his preseason debut for the Brooklyn Nets on Friday, and it was an impressive showing for the 26-year-old. After the Nets' 113-89 blowout win against the Boston Celtics, superstar teammate Kevin Durant had nothing but praise for LeVert.
For his part, Durant expressed exactly what he and the rest of the Nets expect from LeVert in the coming season:

He can play off the ball and shoot the 3,” Nets star Kevin Durant said, via Brian Lewis of the New York Post. “But for us, when he comes in and handles the rock with me and Kyrie out on the floor, that’s going to open the floor up for him so much more.
“We’re going to need him to be aggressive, especially coming off that bench and commanding that second unit. It’s good for him to come back out on the floor after missing that first preseason game and a couple of days of practice. Hopefully, he just keeps getting better and more comfortable in that role.”
LeVert did exactly that on Friday, as he led Brooklyn's second unit with 18 points on 6-of-13 shooting, to go along with two triples, two rebounds, an assist, and a steal in 21 minutes of play for the Nets.
Much has been made about how new Nets head coach Steve Nash can incorporate both LeVert and Spencer Dinwiddie into his system with Durant and Kyrie Irving healthy. Based on what we've seen from him against the Celtics, it looks like LeVert is going to be a potent weapon for the Nets in a sixth man role.
