Ben Simmons is not playing in Game 4. With the Brooklyn Nets in a 0-3 hole, the former All-Star's rumored return in the series won't be coming to fruition. That's made him, once again, the target of NBA Twitter's ire.
During the onset of the series, Simmons was reportedly targeting a return by Game 4 but has run into issues with his back injury that's kept him out since the Nets acquired him at the trade deadline. Safe to say NBA Twitter isn't sympathizing with the Australian forward.
A few NBA media personalities sounded off on the Nets star, including Kendrick Perkins, Bill Simmons, and Reggie Miller.
Ben Simmons has officially completed the biggest heist in NBA history. He really sat out an entire season! Carry on…

Ben Simmons now targeting Game 7 or Game 8. Details to come.

Cmon MAN!!! Out for Game 4 when it was rumored you were going to make your debut. This dude has ZERO competitive 🔥.. As small a chance as the Nets have to come back in this series, you still have KD and Kyrie, all you need is to win ONE game and take it from there.. #ManUp pic.twitter.com/Y5smcnQkqZ

Ben Simmons' rather eye-catching outfit also caught the eye of some Twitter onlookers. His haters had a field day clowning him over his sideline look as he watched the Nets fall on their home floor in Game 3.

Given that fact that Ben Simmons hasn't played a single game in nearly a calendar year yet has remained in the headlines up until his trade to the Nets is somewhat impressive. But it also makes him an easy target to pile on given that he's earning millions of dollars to not play.

Ben Simmons may not play again this season, depending on how the rest of the series goes. But safe to say NBA Twitter won't go easy on him.
