It didn't take long for the Chicago Bulls to move from awkward situation to the next.

After Nikola Mirotic returned to the lineup recently, the Bulls forward has been lighting it up and the team has won three games in a row.

Mirotic has also let bygones be bygones with Bobby Portis, who punched him during a preseason practice and left him hospitalized.

But now that Mirotic is playing so well, the Bulls organization has begun the process of possibly trading them. They are reportedly sniffing around the league to see what they can get for him and also Robin Lopez, per KC Johnson of the Chicago Tribune.

According to one Eastern Conference executive and one Western Conference executive, the Bulls have made preliminary inquiries on Mirotic’s value, along with Robin Lopez’s. The Bulls, who are under the salary-cap floor, are seeking to add future assets in terms of draft picks without taking on long-term contracts.

This move makes sense for the Bulls. They are committed to their young talent, and they are also tied for the worse record in the NBA. Tanking and getting a high draft pick is the only thing that makes sense for them right now.

And starting with Mirotic and Lopez, two serviceable players who can contribute to virtually any NBA team, is the right move.
