The Charlotte Hornets did something in the first half of their game against the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night that would have made Houston Rockets star James Harden sick to his stomach: they did not attempt a free throw.

As a matter of fact, the Hornets did get to the free-throw line until Kemba Walker got fouled at the 6:08 mark of the third quarter.

While it's not like Charlotte is used to living at the free-throw line, the Hornets are hardly a bad foul-drawing team, as they entered Wednesday evening averaging 23.4 free-throw attempts per game, good for 14th in the league.

As a matter of fact, Walker gets to the line 5.2 times a night. That's not exactly Harden-like, but that's still pretty solid.

Either way, the Hornets are in the process of getting absolutely shredded by the Celtics in the fourth quarter, and as the Feb. 7 trade deadline continues to draw closer, you have to wonder Charlotte's state of mind right now.

Will Michael Jordan and the rest of the Hornets' front office decide to sell off some pieces with it being blatantly obvious that they have no chance of making any noise in a potential playoff appearance this season? Or will Charlotte hold firm and try and milk out a trip to the postseason which would almost surely result in a first-round exit?

If the Hornets are smart, they will choose the former, but Charlotte is not exactly an organization that will be confused for one of the brighter franchises in the league.
