Recently, the Dallas Mavericks made headlines by firing general manager Nico Harrison, nine months after he infamously traded Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Anthony Davis, who is currently dealing with an injury. The move had some wondering whether or not the Mavericks' next regime would look to embrace a full-on rebuild around Cooper Flagg, whom the team lucked into at number one overall this past summer.
One person who thinks he could do a good job of turning the Mavericks around is none other than former NBA champion Metta World Peace, formerly Ron Artest, who recently used TMZ as a campaign platform for the job.
Metta World Peace doesn't seem to have a ton in the way of basketball front office experience, but he did help the Lakers win a championship in 2010, knocking down a clutch three pointer in the final minute of Game 7 to help increase his team's advantage against the Boston Celtics.
A big decision for the Mavericks

Whoever the Mavericks choose as their next general manager will have to quickly decide whether or not they think the team still has a chance of competing with Anthony Davis and Kyrie Irving in the lineup, or whether they should blow it up and try to get some future assets to help pair with Flagg.
Currently, the Mavericks sit at 4-10, and have already dug themselves quite a hole in the Western Conference playoff picture. Even if Davis and Irving were healthy, it's hard to envision Dallas reaching the level of teams like the Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets, or Denver Nuggets out West.
In any case, the Mavericks will next take the floor on Monday evening on the road vs the Minnesota Timberwolves.
