Dallas Mavericks star guard Luka Doncic made history on Sunday afternoon by leading Slovenia to the Tokyo Olympics after a terrific performance. Doncic posted a triple-double en route to the victory, and Slovenia is heading to the Olympics in a few weeks to compete with the best of the best.
Luka Doncic and Slovenia are headed to the Olympics in Tokyo.
Triple-double for Doncic and a historic W for Slovenia IN Lithuania against a team that, if not on the same level as past Lietuva squads that troubled @usabasketball, did have Domantas Sabonis and Jonas Valanciunas.

Of course, this performance comes one day after Doncic made some interesting comments in regards to winning an Olympic medal as opposed to taking home an NBA title with the Mavs.
Luka Doncic was asked what would mean more to him: A gold medal with Slovenia or NBA championship.
"I'd say gold medal with Slovenia. You play for your country and that's something… but I wouldn't mind both." pic.twitter.com/zgDxGA3dYI

Well, Doncic is halfway there after Slovenia clinched their first-ever Olympics trip, and it won't be easy for them to walk away with a medal. However, more outstanding performances from Doncic will surely be in store as he goes to Tokyo.

The final stat line for Doncic was 31 points, 11 rebounds, and 13 assists as they topped Lithuania — who themselves had some NBA talent.
As usual, nobody could contain Luka, and the Mavs guard had the internet buzzing as he dropped 21 at the half.

Slovenia will pack their bags and head to Tokyo with excitement, and keep an eye on Luka Doncic for more big-time performances with the entire world watching him. Could Slovenia shock everybody and walk away with a medal?
