Wesley Matthews of the Dallas Mavericks is now the first and only undrafted player to nail 1,500 career 3-pointers. The 32-years-old Mavs guard achieved the feat on Sunday against the Toronto Raptors.
Matthews, who entered the NBA in 2009, reached the 1,500-mark in just 698 career-games — which makes him the sixth-fastest NBA player to do so.
Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors nailed 1,500 3-pointers in just 476 games, followed by Klay Thompson in 517, James Harden in 643, Ray Allen in 661, and Peja Stojakovic in 678. All of the aforementioned players were top 15 draft picks.

Commenting on Wes Matthews' milestone, Mavs head coach Rick Carlisle said that apart from his 3-point shooting ability, the Texas native has also been a great two-way player.
“Wes Matthews has had an amazing career if you look at the fact that he was undrafted,” coach Rick Carlisle said, per Eddie Sefko of mavs.com. “That chip on his shoulder is really what’s propelled him in his career. Ever since his first year at Utah, and then he got signed by Portland, he’s been a terrific two-way player ever since. And he’s been that for us, too.”
Matthews is averaging 13.0 points per game on 41.2 percent from the field and 37.8 percent from 3-point range, along with 2.4 assists, and 2.3 rebounds. He's just the 31st player to reach 1,500 makes from downtown.
