Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr insists superstar small forward Kevin Durant hasn't suffered a setback in his recovery from a right calf strain.

Kerr, though, admits he misspoke on Wednesday when he said Durant could maybe play some three-on-three on Thursday. The Warriors coach says Durant still has another hurdle to clear before he can step back out on the floor:

The Warriors trail the Toronto Raptors 2-1 in the NBA Finals. Golden State has gone 6-2 without Durant in the 2019 postseason.

In the 2019 playoffs, Durant is averaging 34.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.9 assists while shooting 51.3 percent from the field, 41.6 percent from beyond the arc and 90.1 percent from the free-throw line. The Warriors are anxiously waiting KD's return. This series against the Raptors has been tougher for the Dubs than many thought it would be.

ESPN sideline reporter Doris Burke reported during Game 3 that Durant has been watching the games in the locker room with a lot of passion. It's clear not being able to play in the Finals is killing KD. Hopefully, we get to see the two-time reigning Finals MVP soon, although Raptors fans are hoping that doesn't happen.

Game 5 of the Finals will be back in Toronto. The Warriors are hoping the series is tied at 2-2 once Game 5 arrives, and perhaps that's when Durant will be back.
