The Golden State Warriors have opened training camp in high spirits, and after one week of practice, the positivity can still be felt at Chase Center. The team believes that they have what it takes to win a championship this season, and despite a lot of doubters, two-time All-Star Draymond Green isn't fazed at all.
Green, who has been a vital piece in the Warriors' five-year NBA Finals run, said that everyone on the team's roster right now is smart and that the same thing cannot be said about other teams in the league.
Biggest takeaway after first week of practice? Draymond: “It’s different.” He’s confident the group will find its rhythm as all the young players find their way. “It’s a pretty smart team. There aren’t any idiots. On some teams there are some idiots.”

Green is, of course, one of the best all-around players in the NBA right now. He can score, rebound, pass, and defend. He is also surrounded by teammates with high basketball IQ, particularly Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and D'Angelo Russell. Moreover, they have a coach who knows the game really well in Steve Kerr, and if you add up all these personalities, you will see a pretty solid team.
Now, there is no doubt that losing Kevin Durant is a huge blow to their chances of making it back to the Finals, but when the Warriors are at full strength, they are still one of the best teams in the league. Plus, they have already won a title without KD, which is why they aren't really worried about whether or not they will succeed this season.
The Warriors are once again the NBA's underdogs, but they are in a familiar situation. They know what they need to do in order to win, and they will be patient about the process throughout the next 10 months.
