The wait is almost over for Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors. The center the franchise chose with the No. 2 pick in the 2020 draft James Wiseman is nearly ready to return to the court.

Wiseman's rookie season was cut short last year due to a meniscus injury, and he hasn't played or scrimmaged with the Warriors since. Now, that part of rehab is over as he was cleared to practice Monday. He can do everything but live scrimmaging as of right now.

“I feel more comfortable because I had more experience last year…I don't feel confused out there. I feel like I know what I'm doing. This year is better because I have the knowledge from last year to bring it over to the second year and just build off of that,” Wiseman told ClutchPoints.

James Wiseman will be coming into a more comfortable situation with this 2021-22 Warriors roster. He won't need to do a bulk of the scoring like last year's Dubs needed him to do. This year he should be able to focus on what he does best and improve at the areas where he is struggling.

In his rookie season, Wiseman averaged 11.5 points, 5.8 rebounds and almost a block per game. If he is more comfortable with his role this season, these numbers could increase drastically. The fact that this will be his second season almost guarantees an improvement.

Wiseman will likely spend some time with the Warriors' G-League team to get his reps up. He welcomes that opportunity because he's excited to get back to full strength and help his Warriors teammates.
