Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr was not happy with his team's conditioning level after the first set of a double-header against the Minnesota Timberwolves, taking a 111-97 loss after building a strong lead in the second quarter.

“I think our conditioning needs work,” said Kerr. “As I mentioned earlier we were tired, kind of late in the second quarter, you can tell that the execution got worst because of the fatigue. So we gotta keep working on our conditioning and get ready to play a 48-minute game, which is not easy, given the abbreviated preseason. The NBA cut a week off of training camp this year and obviously traveling here to China, with the travel days, we haven't had as many practices. That's the biggest challenge, physically being prepared and ready to go on opening night.”

Golden State put up a 32-point quarter to start the game, but fell apart as time progressed, mustering only 14 points in the fourth, which resulted in an 18-point swing that costed them the result.

The Warriors are slated to have their ring night on Oct. 17, tipping off their season against a very dangerous Houston Rockets team that has reloaded by adding Chris Paul to the mix over the summer.
