Christmas is about to be an exciting day in the NBA. Per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets will clash at the Staples Center in a heavyweight showdown.

Did we expect anything else? LeBron James and Kevin Durant will go toe to toe in what could be a preview of the 2022 NBA Finals. That's if both teams stay healthy, though.

The Lakers are coming off a disappointing season where they bowed out in the first round of the playoffs due to health issues. But, they've done a great job of strengthening their roster around LeBron and Anthony Davis, adding numerous key pieces such as Russell Westbrook, Carmelo Anthony, Kendrick Nunn, and Wayne Ellington, among others.

The Nets meanwhile, already have the squad to win a title. But, it will ultimately come down to the health of their Big 3, who barely played together last season, which resulted in a Eastern Conference Finals exit against the eventual champs, the Milwaukee Bucks. Brooklyn did make some solid moves in the offseason though, bringing in Patty Mills and re-signing Blake Griffin.

In two meetings last season between the Lakers and Nets, they both won a game apiece. Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks are also set to visit the New York Knicks at MSG on December 25th.
