The 2019-20 NBA season is officially on hold. The league has decided to suspend the season due to the coronavirus outbreak, and many other professional sports leagues and events have been following the NBA's lead.
One major event that is supposed to take place this summer is the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. The Olympics, which would showcase some of the NBA's best players on Team USA, is scheduled to begin on July 24. That date is in serious jeopardy with all that is going on involving the coronavirus. Still, the event ultimately being postponed is not out of the realm of possibility, and it appears Los Angeles Lakers forward Jared Dudley has some insight on the subject.
Dudley recently appeared on Arizona Sports' Burns and Gambo this week to talk about the state of the NBA as well as his thoughts on the upcoming Summer Olympics. The Lakers forward believes the games will simply be postponed to next year.

Along with providing some inside information on what the NBA is expecting will happen with the Olympics, Dudley also talked about the 2019-20 NBA season and what he's heard about what could happen. The veteran forward has been hearing that the league isn't opposed to finishing the season late into the summer.
“I got confirmation that they have no problem going late into the summer to finish it up.”
On Thursday, NBA commissioner Adam Silver let it be known that the league intends to take at least a 30-day hiatus. That suspended period will be followed by a re-evaluation of the coronavirus situation and whether it is safe to resume play, but for the time being, there's no telling how long the league will be out of commission.
