After Lakers All-Star LeBron James sparked intrigue with his Instagram story that was identical to Dallas Mavericks center Anthony Davis, he posted a video his youngest son, Bryce James, returning home from college. For some parents, watching their kid return from college and seeing their change in appearance is eye-opening, and James was no different. However, Bryce has yet to comeplete a full semester, while his dad is already seeing changes.

LeBron begins the video from afar before getting close to Bryce and noticing his son's beard growing in, which James posted on his Instagram.

“That boy home from college for a little bit,” James said. “Look at it. Ya'll see his beard? Oh my goodness,” James added before going into a handshake, greeting his son back home.

Bryce will attend the University of Arizona as part of their 2025 recruitment class, including five-star recruits Koa Peat and Brayden Burries. Bryce James will enter his freshman year as a 6-foot-4, 190-pound three-star guard. At the same time, his brother, Bronny James, and father will begin their second NBA season as teammates on the Lakers. It'll also be their first full season with Luka Doncic, who signed a three-year, $165 million contract extension this summer.

While Lakers All-Star LeBron James was noticiably absent from Luka Doncic's press conference to commemorate his new three-year extension, James did personally congratulate Doncic on his extension. After agreeing to a three-year extension, more than half of Doncic's teammates showed up for his presser. Many noticed James and his son Bronny were not in the building nor did LeBron post about Luka's new contract on social media.

However, James did speak with Doncic via facetime, per NBA insider Marc Stein.

“LeBron and son Bronny James were noticeably not in attendance at the news conference, but I'm told that LeBron FaceTimed Doncic on Saturday morning to congratulate him on the new deal. Austin Reaves, meanwhile, is currently away in Asia on a promotional sneaker tour for his Rigorer signature shoe,” reported Stein.

Some NBA fans wondered if James would have attended Doncic's press conference if he had reached an extension with the Lakers as LeBron enters the final year of his two-year, $101.4 million deal. James opted into the final season of his deal, worth $52.6 million. He is entering his 23rd NBA season, his eighth with the Lakers, and will turn 41 in late December.
