After the Los Angeles Lakers had a thriller against the Golden State Warriors, it still ended in a 123-116 loss where star Luka Doncic expressed his disappointment after the game. While it was another game featuring star LeBron James going up against Stephen Curry, the Lakers' Doncic would speak after the game about his outing and how it was a displeasing one.
Doncic would finish the game scoring 19 points on six for 17 shooting from the field, missing all six of his shots from beyond the arc to go along with eight rebounds and seven assists. He would flat out say after the contest that he was “unacceptable” according to Dave McMenamin of ESPN.
“That performance from me was unacceptable,” Doncic said. “When I play like that, that makes [it] harder [for the team] to win, so just got to figure that out.”
“It obviously felt like a playoff game,” Doncic continued. “Obviously, the Warriors, since they acquired Jimmy [Butler], they've been playing unbelievably. So it was kind of playoff game and now we see what kind of team they are. Maybe we can meet them, maybe not, in the playoffs. So, we just need to be more ready.”
Lakers' Luka Doncic discusses possible injury

While there would be fans who would point out Doncic's game for the Lakers as disappointing, others could point to how his left elbow was wrapped up. However, Doncic would downplay the issue.

“It's fine,” Doncic said. “That's my left [arm], so it's fine. I was shooting with the right. It [just] looked like [the] left.”
Golden State would have an advantage throughout the first half and while Los Angeles would storm back in the second, it would be too little too late.
“It was not what they were doing,” Redick said. “It was what we were doing. And we showed them at halftime. The spacing alignments [were incorrect] and having the wrong guy in the dunker spot, the wrong guy in the corner.”
It would be a productive game for James who scored 33 points, 25 of them in the second half, as he's a handful of games removed from the groin injury.
“That was the best I've felt since before the injury, for sure,” James said. “I just tried to press, get downhill. My rhythm, as far as my jump shot, felt pretty good today. I have been shooting it from the free-throw line extremely well as of late. But that was probably the best physically I've felt so hopefully I can build off of that.”
At any rate, the Lakers are now 46-30 which puts them fifth in the Western Conference as they next face the New Orleans Pelicans.
