Lonzo Ball of the Los Angeles Lakers is now listed as day-to-day after a minor injury in their game against the Denver Nuggets.

Per Bill Oram of The Athletic:

Ball suffered the injury after colliding with a Nuggets player in a fight for a loose ball. He headed straight to the locker room after but returned in the second half.

In the loss, Ball finished with seven points, five rebounds, and two assists. He played 18 minutes and was 3-of-6 from the field and 1-of-4 from downtown.

For the season, the 21-year-old Ball is averaging 8.3 points per game, 5.6 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 1.1 steals. He's also shooting 40.4 percent from the field.

Without Ball, there's a high possibility that LeBron James will provide more backcourt services as Rajon Rondo is still out with a right-hand injury.

Though the Lakers medical staff are a bit cautious, Ball himself said that he'll play on Thursday at home against the Indiana Pacers.

We may have to wait until game night itself to see whether Ball's insistence or the medical staff's opinion will prevail. Although Ball has been a critical part of the Lakers' success, the team might not want to risk further injury to one of their prized players.

The Lakers are looking to snap their two-game skid. They currently have an 11-9 record and have won seven of their last 10 games.
