Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James showcased his quarterback skills early on in Friday night's matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans.

After the Pelicans notched a bucket to take a three-point lead, James received an inbounds pass and clearly saw no need to dribble down the court.

Instead, he quickly recognized Ball's position down the court and chose to air it out the length of the floor for the quick bucket.

Getting easy baskets is always a recipe for success in the NBA, and this was yet another example of LeBron James' incredible awareness and court vision on the floor.

The Lakers will hope to see a lot more of that from James and company in this particular matchup since Pelicans star Anthony Davis is obviously among the best in the league right now.

And, naturally, that has ramped up speculation that the former Kentucky star could be joining LeBron in Los Angeles at some point.

But for now, the two are trying to help their individual teams get back on track since both the Lakers and Pelicans are riding two-game losing streaks.

The Lakers are in a bit better of a spot from a record standpoint at 18-13 on the season, while the Pelicans fell to 15-17 after the loss to the Milwaukee Bucks earlier in the week.

If LeBron James and Lonzo Ball can keep producing these type of highlight reel plays in this one, it should help Los Angeles find a victory before getting ready to host the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday.
