Anthony Davis was initially listed as doubtful for the Dallas Mavericks' game on Sunday night against the Portland Trail Blazers. The Mavs star was ultimately ruled out, however. He's already missed eight consecutive games with a left calf strain and there is no set timeline for his return. Dallas did provide an update on his status before Sunday's game, though.

“Mavericks forward/center Anthony Davis, who has missed the last eight games due to a left calf strain, was recently re-evaluated,” the Mavs shared. “The evaluation indicated that Davis is making good progress with his recovery. He will be re-assessed in 7-10 days and further updates will be appropriately provided.”
Davis is apparently making “good progress” as he continues to recover from the aforementioned calf injury. With that being said, there is still uncertainty surrounding the situation. He is not expected to re-evaluated for at least another week, and the re-evaluation date is not a prediction for a return date.
At 3-10 overall, Dallas desperately needs AD on the floor. Without him, the Mavericks feature serious question marks. Even with him the team is far from perfect, but he's a two-way star who will help matters once he returns.
For now, Davis' calf injury will force him to miss at least another week of basketball and possibly even more time. As the Mavericks said, updates will continue to be provided as they are made available.
As for Sunday night's game, the Mavs will host the Blazers at 7:30 PM EST at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.
