Even after spurning the Miami Heat during last year's free agency, many are still believing that Dwyane Wade may still return to South Beach at some point in his career. However, others are already seeing it happen as early as this summer, as the 35-year-old owns a player option in his contract.
Although Wade and Pat Riley may not have talked about extending his tenure with the team last year, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, observed that the Chicago Bulls shooting guard has never made any negative comments towards his former team. He still apparently respects the entire organization, as he is open to reuniting with the team that drafted him.
“Wade has never bashed the Heat publicly and is open to considering a return at some point in his career, according to an associate.”

After a stellar career at Marquette, Wade was selected by the Heat with the fifth overall pick in the 2003 draft. He went on to play 13 seasons and won three championships with the team. Wade was also named an All-Star 12-times and is widely considered the best player in franchise history.
Should he once again play for the Heat, it would be a fitting ending for a player who has helped bring a lot of success to the franchise. However, it's easier said than done as, one, Wade would need to take a major pay cut and, two, he may even need to come off the bench to allow Dion Waiters to gain more valuable experience.
It remains to be seen if a reunion between both parties will happen. At this point, one thing that's certain is this summer will definitely be an interesting one for Wade and the Heat, and a lot of people are already looking forward to finding out how things will unfold for them.
