Jimmy Butler is hilariously blaming Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra for his $15,000 fine from the NBA.

The league slapped the Heat star with the costly punishment for what they deemed as an “obscene gesture” during Game 5 of their playoff series with the Atlanta Hawks. Late in the second quarter of the game, Butler–who was sidelined for the contest due to knee soreness–was spotted on the bench doing a humping celebration after a Max Strus shot.

Even the Heat were fined a separate $15,000 for it after they posted it on social media.

Now speaking to reporters Sunday during a media huddle, Jimmy Butler explained why he celebrated like that and why Erik Spoelstra should be blamed. After all, he is just doing what the Heat coach told them to do for their teammates.

“It's Spo's fault. He always says to celebrate everybody else's success. Max [Strus] goes on a 10-0 run, I celebrate, I get fined,” Butler said while laughing.

For what it's worth, Butler added that PJ Tucker paid the fine for him. Maybe Coach Spo should have chipped in?

Anyway, it's all fun for the Heat now after they closed out the Hawks and secured their ticket to the East Semifinals where they will face the Philadelphia 76ers. Hopefully, Butler and co. won't be fined for any obscene celebration this time around.
