Miami Heat point guard Goran Dragic becomes an unrestricted free agent this offseason and is expected to be pursued by a bevy of teams.

However, according to Kevin O'Conner of The Ringer, Dragic will likely re-sign with the Heat.

Dragic has a $19,217,900 salary for 2019-20. He has been with the Heat since 2015 after a trade from the Phoenix Suns. Dragic then signed a multi-year deal in the summer of 2015 to stay in South Beach.

During the 2019-20 regular season, Dragic averaged 16.2 points, 3.2 rebounds and 5.1 assists in 59 starts. He has been starting for the Heat in the 2020 playoffs, playing terrific as a sidekick to Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo. Dragic put up 21.1 points and 4.7 assists per game in the first two rounds of the postseason against the Indiana Pacers and Milwaukee Bucks. He also shot 45.8 percent from the field, 38.1 percent from beyond the arc and 75.0 percent from the free-throw line in those two series.

The Heat defeated the Bucks in the second round of the playoffs in five quick games to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2014. Miami will face the winner of the Toronto Raptors-Boston Celtics series.

With Butler, Adebayo and Dragic leading the way, the Heat could possibly make it to the NBA Finals and have a chance at a championship. Interestingly enough, Dragic almost went to the Dallas Mavericks last summer as part of the blockbuster Butler deal. Miami is glad that didn't go through.
