Dwyane Wade isn't nearly as quick as he was 10 years ago. Still, the Miami Heat superstar has enough juice left in the tank to occasionally remind the basketball world why he was once called āFlash.ā
Case in point: This spinning, and-1 layup in the first quarter of his team's game against the Detroit Pistons on Saturday night.

That's rookie Bruce Brown, just 22, who Wade schooled on the play above. Not bad for a 37-year-old, huh?
Wade announced before 2018-19 tipped off that he would retire at season's end. Though much of the attention he's paid at every arena across the league focuses on his #OneLastDance, with in-game standing ovations, tribute videos, and on-court jersey swaps, the 16-year veteran has also been more effective this season than many anticipated. He's averaging 14.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 4.3 assists in 25.5 minutes per game, numbers superior to any he's posted since his single-season stint with the Chicago Bulls in 2016-17.
The Heat, by the way, need all they can get from Wade on Saturday night against a key Eastern Conference foe. The Pistons entered the action in the eighth and final playoff spot at 27-30, just one game ahead of Miami in the standings. Detroit holds a 54-46 lead at halftime.
