The Boston Celtics were stifled at home in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals, 101-89, by the Milwaukee Bucks. Celtics star forward Jaylen Brown struggled mightily in the loss, going 4-for-13 from the field and only scored 12 points. After the game, Jayson Tatum was asked if he had any words for Brown following his rough game Sunday.

“Awww… s**t, we all had a rough night. I have all the faith in the world in JB. No one should hang their heads. Just get ready for the next one.”

There was so much talk about the Bucks stepping up in class in this series. They easily handled the Chicago Bulls in the opening round, and the perception of Chicago all season was that they couldn't beat good teams. But the Celtics, now this was going to be a challenge.

People overlooked the fact that it's the Celtics who were truly stepping up in class Sunday. The Brooklyn Nets are a terrible defensive team. It's easy to overlook that fact when all of the attention is on how great Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are offensively.

The Bucks, even without All-Star Khris Middleton, are significantly better defensively. They showed that in Game 1. To Celtics' superstar Tatum's point, almost all of Boston struggled. As a team the Celtics shot 34 percent from the field. Tatum himself was only 6-for-18 from the field, but knocked down four triples in the loss.

The Celtics will need to make some adjustments to help get clean looks going forward. Either that, or this will also be a quick series, but with Boston on the losing end.
