Even after he retired from playing in the NBA, Michael Jordan still remains one of the most influential people in all of basketball. He is a successful businessman, majority owner of the Charlotte Hornets, and creator of the Jordan brand, which is one of the biggest sportswear and clothing companies in the world.
With the growth of his brand, it didn't come as a surprise that many wanted to copy its designs and use his name to make huge earnings. Since 2012, His Airness has been in dispute with a Chinese sportswear company called Qiaodan Sports who's using his Chinese name, his famous number 23 and even his logo.
After two court rulings against him the past two years, China's Supreme People’s Court recently overturned their decision and found that Jordan had sufficient evidence to win the case.
The five-time MVP and six-time NBA champion talked about the importance of protecting his name and being fair to the Chinese consumers.

With this ruling now finalized, it might be the start for Chinese brands to change their suspicious names as there are some that confuse the consumer by almost using the exact same name of famous brands by just adding or removing a letter or two from it.
