The upcoming NBA draft won't be short of interesting prospects which will indeed feature future NBA stars in the next generation.
One player who is already looking to capitalize on his eventual stardom is UCLA's Lonzo Ball, or rather his father LaVar Ball.
Ball has not been without controversy since he began doing his own version of marketing and hype for his son this season. It was reported last week that shoe companies such as Nike, Under Armour, and Adidas were not interested in negotiating with Ball due to his wild requests and constant public embellishments.
In fact, one Nike executive referred to the senior Ball as “The worst thing to happen to basketball in the last hundred years”.
Not only is Ball seeking outlandish endorsement deals reaching $1 billion, but he also is trying to create his own shoe and apparel giant with his Big Baller Brand. Currently, Big Baller Brand is already selling products such as screen printed T-shirts and hats for as little as $50.00 a piece. The top major shoe companies have rejected a prototype sneaker that Ball has been developing over the past year, along with his idea of co-branding.
Ball is looking to release debut Big Baller Brand shoes to the public for a reported $200 retail in his son's rookie NBA season, per Nick DePaula of The Vertical. While Adidas hasn't shut the door on some type of potential shoe deal, this one is highly unlikely to happen.
What was the internet's reaction to the news of a rookie debuting a $200 shoe? Just what you would expect.

Of course, that sounds ridiculous. Some of the most notarized shoe brands in the world don't sell at that price such as the Air Jordan line.
Ball himself doesn't care what any of his detractors think and is more focused on building his own empire through his son.
The best part of it all is the message he sent to anyone that doesn't agree with his $200 idea.
Haters gonna hate, but BBB gonna be great. 💯💯💯
