It looks like the NBA media won't be totally shut out in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.
While there will be extreme changes as far as media access in locker rooms go, one-on-one interviews will still be allowed. Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press revealed the new locker room policies, which will go into effect later this week.

The major change in the aforementioned policies are that media personnel won't just be free to roam around the locker room. That would be because only players, coaches and close team personnel members will be allowed access. Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN revealed the new effects of the policy:
“NBA is planning to limit locker room access to only players and essential team personnel in wake of coronavirus. Teams are also instructed to create a 6-to-8 foot distance between players and media in availability sessions outside locker rooms.
League told teams these are among recommendations of infectious disease and public health experts. Essential team personnel in locker room would include coaches, front office, basketball staff, PR staff, etc).”
Other major North American sports leagues such as the MLB and NHL have already put these rules into effect. Other sports leagues around the world are even going a step further, with Italian soccer teams recently playing games without any fans in attendance.
