On Tuesday, the Indiana Pacers executed a major trade, sending Domantas Sabonis to the Sacramento Kings in exchange for Tyrese Haliburton, Buddy Hield, and Tristan Thompson.

Tristan Thompson, according to recent sources, has no desire to stay in Indiana and would want to be moved or bought out by a contending team before the deadline on Thursday. Given his lack of production this season, it will be fascinating to see if a team decides to take a risk on him. When he was with the Kings, he was only averaging 15.2 minutes per game and had only played in 30 games this season.

Some competing teams may be interested in his stats while he was on the court since he can step in with a backup center role. In only 15 minutes each night, he was averaging 6.2 points and 5.4 rebounds.

If Tristan Thompson is bought out, there will be a few more teams willing to take a chance on him than there will be if the Pacers trade him. In any case, let's take a look at three teams that may benefit from trading for him or acquiring him through a buyout situation.

While all of these deals may be difficult, some contending teams will overspend and will be forced to give back a big package owing to the players' salaries. Not all of these moves are likely, but competing clubs will try everything possible to improve, which might lead to some unusual deals, as we have seen in the past. In a rebuilding situation, teams will try to trade certain players for less than they are worth.

3. Bucks

Tristan Thompson might be an attractive buyout candidate for the Milwaukee Bucks. He isn't necessarily someone who Milwaukee fans desire, but if he can offer them roughly 10 to 20 minutes in the regular season before Brook Lopez returns, it could be something they are interested in.

It would be a great idea for this Bucks team because not only would he be able to assist them at the center position, but he would also be able to avoid having to trade any of their important trade assets for a center, allowing them to go out and grab another player who they believe can help them win this season.

2. Nets

This may be an interesting move for the Nets to make because they clearly need a big body in the paint to slow down players like Giannis Antetokounmpo and Joel Embiid in the playoffs. Thompson would certainly not be enough to slow those players down, but if they do get some bigger guys against a guy like Giannis Antetokounmpo, they might perhaps build a wall, which is something Brooklyn could be interested in, just like other teams have done in the past.

It will be fascinating to watch what moves the Nets make. Many people believe James Harden will be traded to the Philadelphia 76ers in a trade for Ben Simmons. If that's the case, they could be able to get Andre Drummond, negating the need for the Nets to sign Tristan Thompson.

Brooklyn will undoubtedly need to make some changes before the deadline this year, and there isn't much time left. They aren't in a great situation with their current squad, as they will have to rely primarily on Kevin Durant returning at 100 percent. There's almost no chance Brooklyn can win a championship if Durant isn't 100 percent. For the past two weeks, they've looked like one of the worst teams in the NBA, and there are legitimate concerns about this team's future

If Brooklyn doesn't make a move for Ben Simmons, they will have to be on the phone for someone else. There is no way they can feel confident going up against Giannis and the Bucks with their current roster. Even with how well Durant has played this season when he was healthy, there were still concerns about the Nets.

1. Celtics

The Celtics might be a good match for Tristan Thompson if he is bought out since there are speculations that they could trade Grant Williams to the Milwaukee Bucks, and a few other teams have indicated an interest in Williams. It wouldn't make sense for the Celtics to make this move if they aren't planning on trading Grant Williams, but if they are, this may be something they are considering.

Boston has been playing much better basketball of late, and while Thompson isn't going to send them over the top, they will need a backup forward / center if they decide to trade Williams, so a veteran like Tristan Thompson would make sense.
