Two days ago, Kevin Durant broke the internet when he announced on the Players' Tribune that he will be moving to Oakland and join the Golden State Warriors. The idea of the Warriors' new lineup is unbelievably awesome for the Dubs fans, and conversely, it's quite concerning for the other NBA teams. The rich even got richer after having two other veterans, Zaza Pachulia and David West, join the team on the cheap.
They seemed unstoppable. Or seemed so.
Until Dwyane Wade announced he will sign with Chicago Bulls.
Conspiracy theorists now are thinking that perhaps Wade and James planned this while on a private plan a couple of days ago because the effects of this move may ruin the Warriors plan of building their “super team.”
And here's how the Conspiracy theory goes:
1. Dwyane Wade signs with the Chicago Bulls for $47 million/two years.
2. This may result in Hassan Whiteside rethinking his decision to sign with the Heat and instead, join the Dallas Mavericks. If this happens, the Mavs will not have enough cap space to sign Harrison Barnes anymore. (Of course, he officially signed this morning).
Article Continues Below3. Kevin Durant will be forced to stay with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
4. The Warriors will still lose Barnes and Festuz Ezeli since they have rescinded their rights to them.
5. The Cleveland Cavaliers will go on and sign Mike Dunleavy. And ultimately, The King still gets the upper hand. (They Cavs did acquire Dunleavy).
As the chances of this scenario happen to be impossible at this point, it still made us think if Wade's move may have been planned after all by him and his bestfriend, LeBron James. If so, it didn't work out too well.
