Even at 40 years of age, Manu Ginobili continues to surprise the NBA with his brilliant performances for the Spurs. This has led to the Argentine shooting guard receiving much of the fans vote for the 2017 All-Star Game.

Although Ginobili wasn't selected to become an All-Star, he did tell his fans that he appreciated the love, while admitting that it's fair that he didn't make the cut.

“I really appreciate and I’m thankful for the time and effort that everyone gave to get me into the All-Star Game. I understand the people’s love and I’m encouraged by so much generosity, but I didn’t deserve to be even close to that game. It’s a show for players who have a better present than I do, like Curry, Harden, Westbrook, Klay Thompson, Jimmy Butler, Lillard, McCollum, Lou Williams, Chris Paul… They deserve it more, simple as that. I already had my opportunities and I enjoyed them, because it’s fantastic to be part of it, but now it’s time for others. An All-Star Game is not an honorary award for your career, it’s not an Oscar or a Martín Fierro.

Apparently, Ginobili realized that he didn't even deserve to be in the same basket as superstars such as Stephen Curry, James Harden, or Russell Westbrook. However, he acknowledges that an All-Star Game selection is not an honorary award and seems to be fine with not being selected at this point of his career.

Obviously, Ginobili will become a Hall-of-Famer for his amazing career with the Spurs, but he is still glad to receive the All-Star love from his fans even though he believes that he doesn't deserve it.
