Utah Jazz starting point guard Ricky Rubio reportedly isn’t planning to take much time off this offseason.

According to Eric Woodyard of the Desert News, Rubio will start working out as early as May 13th back in Spain. The guard becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer.

Rubio just finished his second season with the Jazz. He averaged 12.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game during the regular season while shooting 40.4 percent from the field, 31.1 percent from beyond the arc and 85.5 percent from the free-throw line.

The Jazz lost to the Houston Rockets in the first round of the playoffs in five games. Rubio put up 15.4 points, 3.2 rebounds, 8.6 assists and 2.4 steals.

Utah almost traded Rubio at the February trade deadline. The Spaniard was involved in trade rumors with the Memphis Grizzlies. The Jazz were trying to acquire Mike Conley from Memphis. Rubio said at his end-of-the-season press conference the trade rumors hurt him.

Rubio made $14,800,000 in 2018-19. He's improved his offensive game over the years and is still one of the best passers in the game. However, the Jazz may look to upgrade their point guard position this summer via free agency or trade. It will be interesting to see what they plan to do with Rubio.
