The Utah Jazz is down one game to the Dallas Mavericks in the first-round series. They will attempt to keep their season alive with a Game 6 win at home Thursday night. However, one of their top contributors suffered a rather unusual injury ahead of the matchup.
Rudy Gobert told the media Thursday afternoon that he was stung by a bee just two days earlier. Jazz reporter Eric Walden tweeted the unfortunate update ahead of Game 6.
Rudy said he got stung two days ago. He owns a hive, and changed the queen out. He said this is the third time he’s been stung. He mentioned multiple times that a single bee sting can actually have health benefits.

While he's known to be the Jazz's starting center, Gobert is also an avid beekeeper. He explained that the injury occurred when he was tending to the hive he owns at his house.
Gobert even posted a picture of the aftermath of his run-in with the bee on his Instagram story. Walden shared the swollen selfie on Twitter Thursday afternoon.

Yikes, good thing the Jazz aren't facing the Charlotte Hornets.
This definitely isn't the best time for any of the Jazz starters to get knocked off their game. Game 6 is a do-or-die situation for the Utah team. Fortunately, Gobert seems to be okay and in good spirits. He even said that a bee sting has health benefits.
The 7'1″ center has been a major part of the Jazz's regular and postseason efforts. He averages 15.6 points, 1.1 assists, and 14.7 rebounds each game. Gobert has recorded double-doubles in both of the Jazz's last two games. If Utah can pull off the win Thursday night, they will force their first-round series with the Mavs to Game 7.
