Following the cancellation of Wednesday's game between the Utah Jazz and the Oklahoma City Thunder, the players at Chesapeake Energy Arena have been quarantined in locker rooms. The NBA announced the postponing of the game due to fears of the coronavirus spreading and the fans were asked to leave the arena.

However, per Tony Jones of the Athletic, both players have yet to leave the arena and are stuck in their respective locker rooms. Part of the hysteria over this particular game has come from Jazz center Rudy Gobert feeling ill before the game.

The French big man later tested positive for the coronavirus and the NBA has since suspended the season starting Thursday. Along with Gobert's diagnosis came a video of the two-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year jokingly touching the microphones of every reporter in the media room which has only escalated fears.

Per the New York Times, there have been 1,240 reported cases of the virus in the U.S. across 42 states with at least 37 deaths. Worldwide, that number has climbed to over 125,000 cases and over 4,600 deaths.

No word has been posted on how long the NBA season will be suspended for but the league has announced that they will use the time to figure out their next steps regarding the pandemic.
