Kentucky Wildcats freshman Jarred Vanderbilt won’t be making an appearance on the court for three months due to an injury suffered during a practice this week. All of this alters John Calipari's plans. This is according to Jeff Borzello of ESPN.
Kentucky freshman Jarred Vanderbilt will miss the next three months with a left foot injury, the school announced Saturday.
Vanderbilt, who suffered the injury during skill instruction Friday, is expected to return in January.
It’s going to be a long year for Vanderbilt, who will have to watch helplessly from the bench as his teammates go to war on the basketball court. The forward, however, has expressed his optimism that he’ll be able to be back in harness as a better player, ready to help the Wildcats win a national title.

Vanderbilt’s projected time of return puts him in action just a few weeks before Championship Week in college basketball so he’ll have enough games to get his feet week and get accustomed to the atmosphere of a real NCAA game.
This obviously hurts John Calipari and company.
Listed as a 6-foot-9 forward, Vanderbilt is currently ranked 17th overall by the ESPN 100 for this year. He received offers from North Carolina, Oregon, and TCU, but opted to go to campus in Lexington, where he’ll be under the guidance of Wildcats head coach John Calipari.
Calipari and the Wildcats reached the Sweet 16 round of the last edition of the NCAA Tournament.
