Michigan and Ohio State took part in a showdown of two of the top teams in college basketball on Sunday and they didn't disappoint. With Michigan emerging victorious over Ohio State, fans were treated to a rare clash of possible No. 1 seeds ahead of the March tournament.

Coming into Sunday's contest, Michigan held an impressive 15-1 record, making them the third-ranked team in the country. On the other hand, Ohio State held a stellar 18-4 record, which was good enough to make them the fourth-ranked team in the nation.

The Wolverines, who are led by Hunter Dickinson, Isaiah Livers, and Franz Wagner, put together a masterful performance in the second half to secure a 92-87 victory. Following their statement win on Sunday, Michigan is positioned to secure a No. 1 seed in the tournament. As a result, Juwan Howard could become part of college basketball history if that comes to fruition.

Throughout the season, Michigan has done nothing but cement themselves as one of the best teams in the country. They hold an 11-1 record in Big-Ten play now, with their lone loss coming against Minnesota on January 16.

As for Ohio State, they now possess a 12-5 record in conference play after falling to Michigan. Their previous loss to a Big-Ten team came on January 29 versus Purdue.

Seeing that both Michigan and Ohio State could be a No. 1 seed, it is a highly unlikely that they are going to clash again in 2021 unless it is at the Big Ten Tournament. There is not much of a chance that they meet again in the NCAA Tournament. But if both teams do somehow find a way to match up with one another in the tournament, then Sunday's game is just a preview of what could come.

It would also mean that Michigan and Ohio State will be in the national championship game, not Gonzaga and Baylor. That would be remarkable… much like Sunday's game in Columbus.
