Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant says his job for this season is to get healthy and “be a teammate.”
Durant won't play this season. The two-time Finals MVP is recovering from an Achilles tear.
“I'm not going to do anything extra,” Durant said, via Malika Andrews of ESPN. “Just do what I usually do. Work hard in my rehab, hopefully that sends a great message out. If anyone has a question on anything, whether in practice or a game, I know the game pretty well, so I can answer those questions quickly and honestly as I can and just try to approach it as an everyday manner and then try to take it a day at a time. I'm just going to be myself.”
Kevin Durant signed a four-year deal with Brooklyn as part of a sign-and-trade deal with the Golden State Warriors.
A 10-time All-Star, Durant has career averages of 27.0 points, 7.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 849 games. The former MVP is one of the best scorers of all time and Nets fans can’t wait to see Durant on the floor at the Barclays Center, competing with Kyrie Irving and DeAndre Jordan by his side.
When Durant makes his Nets debut in 2020-21, Brooklyn will be legitimate title contenders.
