The Brooklyn Nets had arguably the best offseason of any team in the league. They landed two true superstars in Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving and a solid third piece in DeAndre Jordan. Obviously, the team expects to see its record improve from last seasons solid campaign, even with Durant potentially missing the whole season. But when you add superstars, win total isn't the only thing that rises. Per Brian Lewis of the New York Post, the Nets expect to see a revenue increase of $40 million after upgrading their roster:

“Revenues could increase by $40 million through increased sponsorships, merchandising and ticket sales.
‘It’s what we had hoped for,” BSE Global CEO Brett Yormark told The Post. “When we moved to Brooklyn, given what was going on in the borough, given the history and underserved nature of sports in Brooklyn, we thought we could be destinational and global. The first two years we tasted it, now we’ve realized it. And it’s exceeded all our expectations.”'

Acquiring two superstars not only puts Brooklyn firmly in the title race but makes them a much more popular team. Durant and Irving jerseys will be flying off the shelves. Tickets to Barclays Center will see a huge increase in price.

Now, the Nets will have to wait to see if they can turn all the hype into results. As soon as Durant is healthy, the team will look to turn all that added revenue into a championship trophy.
