The Brooklyn Nets have made official their commitment to rookie Rodions Kurucs after signing the guard to a four-year deal, according to Sportando.

Rodions Kurucs has agreed on a four-year, $7 million contract with the Brooklyn Nets. The Latvian rookie was selected by the Nets with the 40th overall pick of the 2018 NBA Draft Barcelona will get a $750k buyout

In addition to those details, it’s also reported by basketball agent Artūrs Kalnītis that the deal is guaranteed for three years, while the fourth year comes with a team-option stipulation.

Rodions Kurucs is a 6-foot-10 forward who was selected 40th overall by the Nets in last month’s NBA Draft in Brooklyn. Kurucs’ addition to the Nets’ fold comes a year after he entered his name to the list of NBA Draft applicants before ultimately withdrawing.

Kurucs’ size and length combined with his range make the Latvian an intriguing prospect. He continues to be some sort of mystery in terms of analyzing and projecting his potential in the NBA, as he has yet to suit up in a single Summer League game for the team.

Kurucs spent the last three seasons in Europe, where he played for FC Barcelona II. In his final season with the team, he put up 10.7 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1,5 steals in 20.8 minutes of action per game.

At only 20-years-old, Kurucs could be valued more as a project in Brooklyn, which can get the Latvian ample time to develop, considering the team’s rebuilding status as of the moment.
