Brooklyn Nets forward DeMarre Carroll underwent a successful arthroscopic procedure on his right ankle in mid-October. While there is no official timetable, it seems he's nearing a return, according to a report from Michael Scotto of The Athletic.

Scotto reports that Carroll “went pretty hard” during Monday's practice session, which is certainly a good sign. However, he'll likely need a bit more time to fully recover.

DeMarre Carroll is an important piece of Brooklyn's rotation. The former 27th overall pick made 73 appearances with the Nets last season, racking up averages of 13.5 points on 41.5 percent shooting from the field (37.1 percent from beyond the arc), 6.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists and just under one steal in 29.9 minutes per outing.

Carroll injured his ankle during Brooklyn's preseason campaign and missed their last two exhibition games.

“I don’t think it’s a huge thing,” Nets head coach Kenny Atkinson said in October, referring to Carroll's injury. “It was something where we could go back and forth or get this thing cleaned up and get him feeling 100 percent.”
