After witnessing Caris LeVert's 51-point explosion against the Boston Celtics, Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant tagged the forward's performance as a ‘masterpiece.'

Via Twitter, Durant congratulated LeVert for dropping a career-high in Tuesday's 129-120 victory over the Celtics.

LeVert shot 17-of-26 from the field, 5-of-10 from deep, and 12-of-18 from the free-throw line. 37 of his 51 points came in the fourth quarter and in the extra period. Along with his scoring outburst, the 25-year-old also had four rebounds, five assists, and one steal.

The former 20th overall pick has been churning in the best season of his four-year career. So far, he's averaging 16.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.8 assists across 28.3 minutes. It's a pretty spectacular feat considering that LeVert missed half of November and the entire December due to a thumb injury.

LeVert is actually one of the main reasons why Durant and Kyrie Irving linked up to sign with the Nets. To recall LeVert, together with the core of Spencer Dinwiddie, Joe Harris, and Jarrett Allen powered the Nets squad to its first playoff appearance last year since the 2014-15 season. This was a notable feat since analysts never considered the Nets to be a playoff team.

Now, the Nets sport a 26-33 record for eighth in the East. Analysts are not concerned with their subpar performance this year. After all, Irving has been out for most of the season while Durant is still nursing his Achilles. But once the two stars are healthy and with the core intact, expect the Brooklyn basketball club to make waves in the coming seasons.
