This would be a brutal loss for the Nets, who are playing their best basketball in years. Brooklyn is 26-23 on the season, good for sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings.
Spencer Dinwiddie is one of the best bench players in the league. The 25-year-old is averaging 17.2 points, 2.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game this season while shooting 46.1 percent from the field, 36.6 percent from beyond the arc and 79.5 percent from the free-throw line.
Dinwiddie signed a three-year, $34 million contract extension with the Nets in December. The backcourt combo of D'Angelo Russell and Dinwiddie has guided the Nets to a winning record so far. Brooklyn is looking to make the playoffs for the first time since 2015.
The Nets will be forced to rely on Shabazz Napier if Spencer Dinwiddie is out for an extended period of time. Napier is averaging 8.8 points, 1.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists on the season in 37 games.
