With the 3×3 game already becoming prominent in the basketball world, Brooklyn Nets combo forward Rondae Hollis-Jefferson says he would love to represent Team USA again in future 3×3 tournaments.

FIBA Basketball posted a column on their official website that detailed their recent interview with the former 3×3 star.

“I don’t know when it would happen but I would love to play 3×3 again. I really enjoyed playing in that kind of basketball and I learned a lot during my time playing 3×3. The Olympics are a great window of opportunity, but as I play in the NBA, I don’t know about it. Only the future will tell, but winning a gold medal with Team USA at the Olympics would be an amazing experience!”

The 6-foot-8 versatile forward was one of the pioneers of 3×3 basketball, having played in the first 3×3 World Cup in 2011. His team only finished fifth that year but ended up as runner-up in the 2012 edition of the tournament.

The 23-year-old Arizona product also emphasized how those tournaments helped him enhance his game even more.

“It helped me a lot. First, by gaining experience at international level, as you play against teams and guys that you don’t play in the United States, guys who play a different kind of basketball, who play in a different way that I am used to and it is always a great learning experience to play at this level. I learned a lot about my game, worked on my basketball IQ and also on how to play with some international rules. I really enjoyed it and those international experiences were very positive and constructive for me, both on a human level and basketball wise.”

Hollis-Jefferson was one of the few bright spots for the Nets last season. He turned in his most productive year, posting averages of 13.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game.
