Kyrie Irving is reportedly already making moves to trace his next destination in free agency. According to a report by Ric Bucher of Bleacher Report, the top point man in the market is trying to recruit DeAndre Jordan to join him alongside Kevin Durant with the Brooklyn Nets next season:

Irving, meanwhile, also recently purchased a new home in South Orange, New Jersey, but league sources say he is pressing Durant to join him with the Nets and is trying to recruit Jordan as well. Durant did have his Achilles repaired by a Nets team physician, Dr. Martin O'Malley, but the New York Post's Mark Fischer quoted one of O'Malley's medical colleagues warning not to read too much into that.

Reading into the smoke a little: Irving is from South Orange, New Jersey, so buying a home in his original hometown is nothing new and is something athletes have done in the past.

O'Malley doubles as a Nets physician, but he was also the same doctor who treated Durant back in 2015, when he suffered a season-ending Jones fracture.

It's likely Durant chose his doctor based on previous rapport and a vote of confidence, as he was able to return a better version of himself after rehabbing the injury through the offseason.

The touchy nature of a major injury like a torn Achilles is crucial, so it's very likely that Durant put trust above a link to his new team when it comes to going under the knife.

However, it seems more and more likely that the Nets could look a lot different next season if this trio indeed joins forces to play together in 2019-20.

According to Marc Stein of The New York Times, Jordan is a close friend of Durant's, and putting him in a place of comfort bodes much better for Brooklyn's chances to net both Irving and Durant as a bundled package.
