Michigan Wolverines defensive end Rashan Gary has been selected by the Green Bay Packers with the No. 12 overall pick. Gary has always had a lot of pressure on him and it shouldn't be any different now after being a high draft pick.

Coming out of high school, Gary was the number one rated recruit in the country and was the state of New Jersey's top defensive player two years in a row. During college with the Wolverines, he was a force to be reckoned with and was named to the All-Big Ten first team his Sophomore and Junior year.

As strong as Gary is, there is some concern about how his game will transition to the next level, as he won't be able to use his pure strength, as NFL analyst Lance Zierlein points out.

Five-star defensive end prospect coming into Michigan who leaves with those same five-star traits and loads of potential but a lack of development in key areas. Gary is a face-up rusher who seems content to hit tackles with bull-rush attempts rather than working the edges. He's explosive out of the blocks and in closing to the quarterback, and is just waiting for hand development and additional rush moves. His size, strength and motor could make him a plus run defender in short order. He has elite potential if a defensive coordinator can harness the energy and focus his approach.

That is going to be the challenge for Mike Pettine to get the most of out Rashan Gary, and really make sure he reaches his potential.

The Packers are going to be very happy about their selection of Gary and will need him to become an impact player quickly.
