Could we actually have a do-over of the NFC Title Game between the Los Angeles Rams and the New Orleans Saints?

It seemed like a pipe dream to begin with, but now, it's pretty much impossible.

Attorney Frank D'Amico filed a civil suit on behalf of Saints season-ticket holders asking the NFL to replay the matchup between the Rams and the Saints, but the problem is, the initial hearing will not happen until next Monday:

Let's ignore the fact that this is a ridiculous lawsuit to begin with and focus on the timing of the hearing. The Super Bowl will be played on Sunday, Feb. 3. This hearing will not take place until the Monday right before the Super Bowl.

So, explain to me, Frank, how you are going to get all of this done and have the Rams and Saints somehow replay their game in a span of six days and then still have the winner play in the Super Bowl?

As Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk points out, this seems like a publicity stunt on the part of D'Amico just to get some attention. He has to know there is no way that this could possibly happen.

And really, this is just silly.

Bad calls happen in games all the times. There were calls that went against the Rams in that game, too. Just because the non-call on what was clearly pass interference by Rams cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman occurred at a higher-leverage moment does not mean the previous bad calls mattered any less.

So, let's just face facts: the Rams will be moving on to the Super Bowl to play the New England Patriots on Feb. 3.
