The Atlanta Falcons were able to grind through a 34-31 road win against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday night without the services of Pro Bowl running back Devonta Freeman, who was sidelined due t0 a concussion.

It appears that Freeman's status for the Falcons' Week 12 action against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers could be in jeopardy as well, as he's still in the concussion protocol, according to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk.

Running back Devonta Freeman suffered a concussion in Week 10 against the Cowboys, did not play against the Seahawks on Monday night and coach Dan Quinn said that he is still in the concussion protocol as the team starts preparing to host the Buccaneers on Sunday. Quinn didn’t say what stage of the protocol Freeman is in, so it’s not clear how many steps are left before he’d get cleared to return.

Atlanta may be taking the precautionary route with the injury given that is it the second concussion that he has suffered this season. He spent the final two weeks of the preseason in the concussion protocol and dealt with a similar injury back in the 2015 campaign.

The Falcons have been able get by without Freeman as backup Tevin Coleman has brought stability to the position in his absence, as he has 126 yards with a pair of touchdowns over the last two weeks. He has proven to be a valuable asset in the offense that has helped carry them to two straight wins.

If Freeman is unable to clear the concussion protocol, Coleman will once again get the start and bulk of the duties in the running game.
