The Kansas City Chiefs had another successful season and a long run in the playoffs, but fell just short of Super Bowl LVI. Much of the Chiefs' success in recent years can be attributed to offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy.
Fortunately for Kansas City, Bieniemy is likely staying with the franchise for another season. NFL reporter Matt Verderame tweeted the news Thursday morning.
Per source, the Chiefs anticipate Eric Bieniemy will return as their offensive coordinator. Contract isn't signed yet, but belief is it will get done.
Chiefs supported Bieniemy as he interviewed with Saints among exploring other opportunities, but also want him back. (1/2)

Verderame noted that the Chiefs' OC interviewed with the Saints and pursued other career opportunities during the offseason. He added that Bieniemy and Reid had an informal meeting to discuss his future with the Chiefs, and he is expected to return for the 2022-2023 season.

Bieniemy began his NFL coaching career in 2006 as the running backs coach for the Minnesota Vikings. Fast forward to 2013, Bieniemy landed the job as the running backs coach for Kansas City and spent five seasons in the position. In 2018, Bieniemy was promoted to the Chiefs' offensive coordinator position.
He played a crucial part in the Chiefs' 2020 Super Bowl win during his second year as the team's OC.
Ensuring that Bieniemy stays in Kansas City is just one of the Chiefs' offseason moves so far. The team announced the release of veteran linebacker Anthony Hitchens on Tuesday. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his receivers are in their prime right now, so it's crucial that Kansas City capitalizes on their potential while it's viable.
